![]() Many security systems have a way for the system to toggle between each camera in rotation in full screen. I did find a few features I would have liked to have seen, and so here's a short wish list for future versions. I've been using the system for a few weeks now, and with the exception of the remote monitoring functions mentioned above, I'm quite impressed. I haven't had time to reset everything to see if it comes back online, but remote monitoring is definitely a bit more troublesome than local monitoring, which is rock-solid. Update: the Web interface has stopped showing one of the cameras claiming "Error getting camera settings", while the Commander PC-based interface works fine. In any case, it's a serious flaw and Logitech needs to step up and fix it before this solution can be a truly credible remote monitoring solution. A more cynical view is they're limiting the time the connection is live to save overhead at their data center. Presumably, Logitech thinks you'll get an email alert, and then want to see what's happening. You can check in and see what's going on, but you can't just keep an eye on things. This completely defeats the idea of having a browser window at work open all the time to see what's going on at home, or a Nexus 7 sitting on the night table to monitor the baby. You're actually presented with a display arrow that invites you to tap it to start monitoring again. What I mean by this is you start monitoring, and after 5-10 minutes, the monitoring stops. Logitech claims the cameras have built-in surge suppression, but we had one power failure recently which corrupted one of the SD cards: Here in Florida, we have many power fluctuations, and so everything (including our crock pot) has a UPS between it and the the power grid. While we're on the topic of installation, I need to point out that you can't plug the cameras or the central hub into a UPS. You might not need an electrician, but keep in mind that if you're touching the circuit breaker box, some ordinances require licensing to do the work (and, of course, if you don't know what you're doing, you could be in for a nasty shock). Since I needed everything installed to code, I used the same licensed electrician we used to run our power infrastructure and GigE to install the Alert system. ![]() The HomePlug system is a security win as well, since the wire that extends outside the house to the camera isn't on the internal LAN, it's effectively firewalled into the camera's own private HomePlug network. Since I operate my office from home, that was a necessity. As a result, we've got a power infrastructure normally more suited to a small data center than a house. We pretty much gutted it and rebuilt it to my geeky specifications. As I've mentioned before, when we bought this house, it was a fixer-upper in the worst way. That's why I had to involve an electrician. ![]() While this might be easy installation, having the camera's power right under the camera kind of defeats the whole security concept. In fact, on the instructions, Logitech has a somewhat silly illustration showing a cable running from the outside camera, down the side of a building, to an exposed power socket. Logitech recommends a similar procedure for outside cameras. Certainly for an indoor camera, all you do is plug a cable into the camera and into the power brick, and plug that into the wall. Installation is, in theory, quite simple. At about 2GB a week, a relatively small amount of storage can store pretty nearly a year without blinking. The Commander software allows you to set a maximum amount of storage, and then deletes older recordings. ![]() ![]() ![]() All maps were drawn using SRTM and GEBCO with plate boundary data. Modern examples of trench-linked strike-slip faults. In this paper, I try to review some of representative strike-slip basins along convergent margins, especially focusing on basin formation and filling processes, as the first step for comprehensive understandings of the tectono-sedimentary evolution in strike-slip basins. Since many local examples were collected after the 1980s, advanced research techniques including subsurface exploration including seismic survey and borehole drilling, analog experiment, and numerical simulation revealed that basin formation and filling processes were not simple but variable. Strike-slip basins thus present a wide diversity in terms of their geometry, evolution, and filling processes. However, the basin geometry is quite different from that of the Ridge Basin, whose shape is more elongated with a length of more than 300 km and a width of less than 20 km, and whose southern margin has been truncated by post-depositional strike-slip fault displacement. The Izumi Group of the Cretaceous turbidite successions in southwestern Japan has the same characteristics in the sedimentary succession as the Ridge Basin, and is therefore considered to contain strata that were deposited in a strike-slip basin. Their basin lengths are typically about three times longer than the basin widths. Sedimentary successions of archetypal examples of strike-slip basins, such as the Ridge Basin in California, have been characterized in terms of the dominance of axial sediment supply and continuous depocenter migration in a direction opposite to that of the sediment supply. Sedimentary strata deposited in these basins record the history of lithospheric response to the convergence. Strike-slip faulting is one of the most important mechanisms of sedimentary basin formation at plate convergent margins, where localized extension can cause topographic depressions. The degree of shortening and uplift or extension and subsidence depends on the modes of convergence between oceanic plates, island arcs, and continental crusts. They include areas of compression accompanied by thrusting, mountain building, and related foreland/forearc basin development, and also areas of strike-slip movement associated with transpressional uplift, transtensional subsidence, or pure strike-slip displacement. Plate convergent margins are areas of concentrated lithospheric stress. ![]() ![]() YouTubers and Streamers: Ninja Kiwi is actively developing, supporting, and promoting channel creators on YouTube, Twitch, Kamcord, and Mobcrush. * Customize your bloons with decals, or grab new tower skins so your victory has a signature stamp ![]() B12 vegan, Rivals racing mod apk, Pennbarry zephyr fans, Cx-nf959lh. * Build your clan and work together to be the best of the best for weekly rewards. This change in temperature might increase precipitation during winter to up to 30% by 2100. In Western Europe, temperature could increase between 1.5 ☌ and 7 ☌ by the end of the century. Yet, the Flemish Environmental Agency, with the use of technology, was able to increase such trust during the process.įloods cause billions of euros of damage every year and due to climate change, their impact might increase. The financial resources were also limited and the process required a continuous development of trust. As the provincial government was an important actor to increase local participation, collaboration with private and non-governmental actors in the steering committee was more limited. The Flemish government led the maps’ creation process and it was supported by the lower governmental levels. Under this governance context, government actors play the primary role. The most supportive qualities of the governance context are those related to the degree of fragmentation (extent and coherence), while the less supportive ones are those related to the “quest for control” (flexibility and intensity). The government of Flanders plays a key role in this process. The research identified that the current governance context is supportive of the creation of the flood risk map. Data have been collected through in-depth interviews with steering committee actors involved in the development process of the map. This region is considered among the frontrunners when it comes to the creation of a pluvial flood risk map with climate change scenarios. ![]() For this research, we selected the region of Flanders in Belgium. To address this gap, this research applies the Governance Assessment Tool as an evaluative framework to increase our understanding of the governance factors that support the development of pluvial flood risk maps at the subnational level. However, governance research about the role of subnational governments in geospatial data development in urban water transitions has received little attention. In some cases, subnational governments have played a key role to develop these maps. To mitigate floods, pluvial risk maps with climate change scenarios have been developed to help major urban areas adapt to a changing climate. ![]() Climate change has increased pluvial flood risks in cities around the world. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Many more breeds were created to fill other human needs, such as home protection and vermin control.Ĭertain breeds have also been created to make dogs more desirable as companions. Similarly, humans bred German shepherds for their ability to herd livestock, Labrador retrievers to help collect ducks and other game felled by hunters, and sausage-shaped Dachshunds for their ability to rush down a burrow after a badger. These dogs would become the family of sled dogs-including breeds such as huskies and malamutes-that remains relatively unchanged today. For instance, around 9,500 years ago, ancient peoples began breeding dogs that were best able to survive and work in the cold. Today, many of the dogs you know and love are the product of selective breeding between individuals with desirable traits, either physical or behavioral. All of this is thought to have unfolded over thousands of years. Later still, those wolves may have been welcomed into the human home and eventually bred to encourage certain traits. ![]() Many generations later, humans might have encouraged wolves to stay near by actively feeding them. Perhaps wolves started down this path simply by eating human scraps. While it’s impossible to say exactly how a wild wolf species became a domesticated dog, most scientists believe the process happened gradually as wolves became more comfortable with humans. When dogs broke off from their wild ancestors is also a matter of mystery, but genetics suggest that it occurred between 15,000 and 30,000 years ago. However, scientists are still working to understand exactly what species gave rise to dogs. In fact, DNA evidence suggests that the now-extinct wolf ancestor to modern dogs was Eurasian. Evolutionary originsĪll dogs descend from a species of wolf, but not the gray wolf ( Canis lupus), like many people assume. This makes the domestic dog the most popular pet on the planet. A third of all households worldwide have a dog, according to a 2016 consumer insights study. This separates domestic dogs from wild canines, such as coyotes, foxes, and wolves.ĭomestic dogs are mostly kept as pets, though many breeds are capable of surviving on their own, whether it’s in a forest or on city streets. While these animals vary drastically in appearance, every dog-from the Chihuahua to the Great Dane-is a member of the same species, Canis familiaris. The term “domestic dog” refers to any of several hundred breeds of dog in the world today. After pressing "ok" on the different screens it would not save and upon reopening each screen both would stay return to channel 1 in the drop menu and record setting as "regular" instead of motion.
